Marketing Assistant Opportunity
Ready to bust out of the grind?
POLYCORP is an award-winning developer and builder of extraordinarily energy-efficient condos, townhomes, apartments, and single-family homes. We are a small and mighty team committed to excellence: in the homes we create, our relationships with employees and suppliers, and the service we provide to our purchasers and owners.
If you’re thinking of applying for this marketing assistant role, know that we don’t believe in stringent job descriptions that impose limits. When you join our team, we encourage ideas, big goals, and stretching your abilities (and we are open to continuing education to help you do that!). This is not your typical company. On that note…
Ready, set, go!
We need a high energy all-star ready to hit the ground running as we prepare for the launch of our latest project, Aria at Long Lake. Working with and supporting the Sales and Marketing Manager, you’ll be involved in all aspects of what marketing currently looks like.
Here’s what we’re thinking, when we picture our ideal person for this role.
- You’ve got mad online skills – a master of social media campaigns, Google Ads, YouTube, email marketing, blogging, WordPress, and all the back-end stats to help analyze trends and spend money wisely.
- Clever and beautiful design excites you, and you’ve spent time with PhotoShop, Illustrator and Premiere. If you’re a pro at any of these programs, all the better.
- The blank page doesn’t scare you. You can string together words to get a message created – for email marketing, social media posts, and the occasional news release.
- You’re detailed – from filing collateral on our server to be easily retrieved, organizing and updating spreadsheets, to keeping an eye on different marketing tactics and our competitors, and diving into market research. You enjoy maintaining a marketing schedule and keeping things moving forward.
Something to note: We acknowledge that you might not have all the skills on this list. If you’ve got a few – i.e., the online skills, writing ability and are organized, yet don’t feel comfortable with the design side, submit your resume anyway.
What your day might look like
While there’s no typical day…here are some things to expect. You’ll meet with the Sales Manager to discuss what’s going on and set some priorities, check the performance of the online ads, review activity on social media posts. There might be website updates required for Q Lofts, and you’ll work with our agency in the redesign of our corporate website. Once a week, you’ll review the open house traffic report and log the stats of visitors in order to fine-tune the advertising. On another day, you’ll be handed an SD card of video we’ve shot with our POLYdrone and turn it into interesting snippets for posting or updating our purchasers. And there are special event activities as well. Last July, POLYCORP created the first annual FunDuctRaiser – a duct tape boat race on Long Lake – and we will be doing it again this year. You’ll stay up to date on the construction progress at the Aria site and likely help organize special open houses at the new presentation centre. A wide variety of activities awaits.
Education, experience, and other details
What we are seeking is the right fit. Someone with an entrepreneurial spirit seeking a career where the sky’s the limit, willing to do what’s necessary to get the job done. You’re personable, upbeat, confident, driven, and reliable…a good sense of humour is a bonus.
Of course, if you have an education, let us know! If you’re an autodidact, mention that too! If you have construction or real estate experience, great, but it’s not necessary. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits.
Are you in?
